Dr Gregory Horowitz

MB.BS (HONS), M.MED.SC., FRANZCO, FRACS.

Dr. Gregory Horowitz is a cataract surgeon and glaucoma specialist who is a consultant opthamologist at Sydney Eye Hospital. He also practises general opthamology.

Gregory studied at Sydney University and underwent his opthalmic training at Sydney Eye Hospital and Prince of Wales Hospital where he spent a year with Professor Fred Hollows.

He did further training at the University of British Colombia in Vancouver, Canada, where he gained knowledge in glaucoma and opthalmic plastic surgery. Gregory has a Masters in Epidemiology and Clinical BioStatistics from Newcastle University.

Dr Horowitz supervises a weekly public clinic at Sydney Eye Hospital and operates at both Sydney Eye Hospital and Sight Foundation Theatre. He is involved in lecturing and teaches both medical students and Eye Registrars in the training program at Sydney Eye Hospital.

Gregory is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Opthamologists and a Fellow of the College of Surgeons.

More recently, as part of a group called The Hoc Mai Foundation, Dr Horowitz travels to Hanoi, Vietnam to train young medical graduates.
